Box carriers to see big drop in earnings – are fighting for volume already
The leading container liners are still making a lot of money, but earnings will see a steep decline in Q4, forecasts Alphaliner. Carriers have begun ”fighting for volume,” according to Xeneta.

The heydays for major container carriers are coming to an end, and the slowdown is illustrated by the fact that several players will book markedly smaller profits in the year’s last quarter compared to the previous one.
