Seaspan makes deals with customers as usual despite criticized climate clause
CII: Although a new legal clause places the responsibility and bills for poor climate ratings with operators and carriers, this has not altered Seaspan’s negotiations with customers, the major shipowner tells ShippingWatch.
Throughout the fall, the world’s leading owner of container ships, Seaspan, has been having discussions with clients about how they can work together to comply with the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) upcoming climate regulation, CII, which will measure vessels’ energy efficiency and carbon emissions from the start of next year.
