Hamburg Süd company in major Brazilian buildup

Brazilian container carrier controlled by Hamburg Süd's parent company performs massive buildup with new and bigger ships along the Brazilian east coast.

The Brazilian container carrier Aliança de Navegação, which is controlled by the Oetker Group, Hamburg Süd's parent company, expands its coverage of the Brazilian east coast, while the carrier is also working to restructure its four loops, according to Alphaliner on Tuesday.

During the past 12 months Aliança has significantly increased the scope of its capacity, deploying four owned 3,765 teu vessels, ordered from Shanghai Shipyard in late 2010, as well as three chartered ships.
