Platou: Maersk and MSC could save 4 percent on 2M

Maersk and MSC could save 4 percent on unit costs with the new 2M agreement, according to Platou.

Maersk Line and MSC have announced that they expect significant savings from the new collaborative agreement, the so-called 2M VSA, signed on Thursday. Several analysts have tried to assess the scope of the savings involved, and now Platou points to an estimated 4 percent in savings on unit costs.

The analyst stresses that this is likely not the final result, as various data concerning the new collaboration have yet to be announced.
