Container set to reach record-high scrapping level

The amount of scrapped container ships will reach an all-time high this year, according to Clarksons.

A growing number of container ships will be taken out of service and be scrapped this year - in fact, the number of ships scrapped will grow to the highest level ever.

"Demolition in 2014 is expected to reach a record high of 0.50 million teu, and to continue at high levels into 2015," says Clarksons in its monthly analysis World Fleet Monitor.
