Media: Hamburg Süd wants to join Ocean Three

German container carrier Hamburg Süd is interested in joining the Ocean Three alliance if the carrier is successful on the east-west trades, chairman Ottmar Gast tells Lloyd's List.

Hamburg Süd would like for the alliance Ocean Three to potentially become Ocean Four, with Hamburg Süd as the newest member of the alliance, which currently includes CMA CGM, UASC and China Shipping as members.

Executive chairman of the board, Ottmar Gast, explains this to Lloyd's List and highlights that there are currently no formal negotiations underway for a potential membership.
