
Demand growth development in 2015 has been extremely weak and far below Maersk Line's expectations at the beginning of the year, says the carrier's CEO Søren Skou in an interview with the Wall Street Journal.
"This year, demand growth is extremely weak, around 1.5 percent to 2 percent, much less than anticipated, while capacity will grow around 7 percent. Coming into the year, we expected demand of 3 percent to 5 percent," says Søren Skou.
