
Container carrier Hapag-Lloyd, which was listed on the stock exchange last fall after the takeover of Chilean CSAV, stands out as one of the container sector's most interesting carriers. In particular, because Hapag-Lloyd has increasingly made itself less dependent on specific routes such as the weak East-West routes between Asia and Europe, notes UK-based analyst firm Drewry.
In an investor analysis of Hapag-Lloyd, Drewry projects that the company, in spite of the historically low rate level, and the overcapacity in the container sector, will be profitable in the short and medium terms.
