Hapag-Lloyd projects even lower reefer rates in 2016

Reefer freight rates are historically low, says the Global Director of Reefer at Kuehne+Nagel during the biggest reefer event of the year in Berlin. And the rates will dip even further in 2016, says Hapag-Lloyd's Managing Director of South America, Andrés Kulka.

Major container carriers such as Maersk Line, Hapag-Lloyd, MSC, CMA CGM and Hamburg Süd are fighting an intense battle for market shares on the reefer market, and huge sums have been invested in recent years in the refrigerated containers used to transport fruit, meat and other perishables - not least out of the biggest market, Latin America.
