Damco sees Amazon as a huge threat

The logistics industry is facing challenges, and one of the biggest comes from the US-based online retail giant.

The logistics industry, in which the Maersk unit Damco operates, is changing rapidly and will look completely different in five to ten years.

This is according to CEO Hanne Sørensen, who in an interview with Danish daily Berlingske Business notes that the changes are coming from new technology and new competitors, and she sees a particular threat in US e-commerce giant Amazon.
