Hapag-Lloyd: Our new alliance can get by without Hanjin

The coming container alliance, The Alliance, looks set to count one less member after Hanjin Shipping has entered court receivership. The alliance is covered, Hapag-Lloyd's communications director tells ShippingWatch.

With the collapse of Hanjin Shipping, the new container collaboration The Alliance looks set to include one less member when it comes into force April next year.

The South Korean carrier was planned to join the alliance alongside Hapag-Lloyd and the four Asian K Line, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Nippon Yusen Kaisha and Yang Ming.
