CEO defends Nordic Tankers' divestment in weak market

Just as the chemical tanker market was strained in 2017, it is difficult to say whether this development will turn around this year, Nordic Tankers CEO Per Sylvester Jensen tells ShippingWatch. But he maintains that the carrier got a good price for Crystal Nordic.

On the one hand, Nordic Tankers and partner Embarcadero Maritime has sold jointly owned carrier Crystal Nordic at a good price.

On the other hand, the chemical tanker market remains in the doldrums, as was the case in 2017, and there are still no signs that things will improve noticeably this year, says Nordic Tankers CEO Per Sylvester Jensen about the sale announced Tuesday and the overall market situation in the segment in an interview with ShippingWatch.
