Essberger to move Crystal Nordic from Copenhagen to Hamburg

Following the acquisition of Crystal Nordic from Nordic Tankers and Embarcadero, Germany's Essberger will in time shut down the headquarters in Copenhagen and combine the activities in Hamburg, Essberger tells ShippingWatch. A Norwegian trio played a key part in the deal.

Crystal Nordic's days as a Copenhagen-based carrier are running out after the family-owned German shipping group Essberger has acquired the carrier from its original owners, Nordic Tankers and Embarcadero Maritime.

The transaction covers all assets and commitments, including ships and employers, but as tanker carrier John T. Essberger is based in Hamburg along with Deutsche Afrika-Linien, the plan is to gather the activities here, Managing Director Jan Hammer tells ShippingWatch.
