Maersk Tankers expects recovery "in the coming years"

Rates have been plunging for years in the severely strained product tanker market. Like its peers, Maersk Tankers is waiting for an imminent recovery, Chief Strategy Officer Søren C. Meyer tells ShippingWatch.

The next couple of years will bring a much better market for product tanker vessels, say several shipping companies in the sector.

These include Maersk Tankers, which has – like many other stakeholders in the market – been hit on its bottom line in recent years, which have also for the tanker carrier brought significant losses triggered by impairments.
