Odfjell: Chemical tanker has bottomed out after challenging year

2018 was a challenging year for chemical tanker, says CEO Kristian Mørch in Odfjell's annual report, which shows a large deficit caused by the group's terminal business. Things should be looking better already in the first quarter this year.

A challenging 2018 was wrapped up with slightly improved markets late in the fourth quarter, says the Norwegian chemical tanker and terminal operator Odfjell in its financial report for the fourth quarter and the full year 2018.

In the fourth quarter, the group's chemical tanker business Odfjell Tankers book a revenue of USD 221.3 million compared to USD 213.2 million in the same period 2017. The net result came to a deficit of USD 32.9 million against a deficit of USD 28.5 million in the same period the year before.
