Trafigura made USD 210 million on selling ships to Frontline and Scorpio

Sale of ships to Frontline and Scorpio Tankers contributed positively to Trafigura's bottom line, shows the 2019 financial report.

Correction: Previously the headline claimed that Trafigure made USD 1.3 billion on selling ships, which was wrong. Trafigura made USD 210 million.

Trafigura did well for itself from August to September, when it sold 29 oil tankers to John Fredriksen-owned Frontline as well as Scorpio Tankers in asset-equity swaps with the two companies.
