A ship from Norway's Stolt-Nielsen on Sunday averted a pirate attack in the Gulf of Aden 75 nautical miles from Yemen, confirms the shipping company to several media, including Norwegian Verdens Gang and Reuters.
"After multiple warning shots were fired by the armed guard team aboard Stolt Apal, the skiffs opened fire on the ship. The armed guard team returned fire, disabling one skiff and ending the pursuit," a spokesperson for Stolt-Nielsen tells Reuters.
