Stena Group's half-year result heavily impacted by corona pandemic

Stena Group's interim result for the first half of the year is heavily influenced by the corona pandemic. Particularly the passenger division, which had to close down several routes, saw a sudden drop. The deficit has increased ten-fold compared to 2019.

With a deficit of SEK 2.7 billion (USD 308 million) for the first half of 2020, the major Swedish shipping group's deficit is almost ten times as large as for the same period of 2019, shows the company's interim report.

Not surprisingly, it is mainly the group's passenger division – which was heavily impacted by the outbreak of coronavirus – that saw its results dwindle.
