Fire aboard supertanker is put out

The fire on board a VLCC supertanker off the coast of Sri Lanka has now been put out. One crew member was killed in the fire, which broke out Thursday.

The fire on board supertanker New Diamond has been put out, reports Reuters.

The ship was chartered by Indian Oil Corp, IOC, and was sailing out from the east coast of Sri Lanka when the fire erupted. This happened when a boiler exploded.
