Frontline buys six supertanker newbuilds

Tanker shipping company Frontline expands its fleet with six VLCC supertankers. The purchase price is slightly above half a billion USD and the vessels are already under construction in South Korea.

John Fredriksen-controlled tanker carrier Frontline adds six VLCC supertanker newbuilds to its fleet.

The purchase price for the six existing contracts, already under construction at shipyard Hyundai Heavy Industries in South Korea, is USD 565.8 million, writes Frontline in an announcement.
