Torm sees tanker rates out of Russian ports multiplied by ten: "We stay away from such trades"
Torm CEO Jacob Melgaard says that day rates on LR2 tankers sailing with cargo from Russian ports have multiplied by ten. ”We stay away from such trades,” he tells ShippingWatch. The top exec declines to comment on competitors upholding Russian operations.
Jacob Meldgaard, Torm’s chief executive, is completely categorical. Here and now, the Denmark-based product tanker operator will not sail to Russian ports or take on new business from Russian customers.
