Lower spot rates mirrored on BW LPG's bottom line

BW LPG’s net income from spot voyages decreased by 16% in the first quarter compared to last year. However, the company books a profit and pays dividends to its shareholders, reveals the quarterly report.

BW LPG had a weaker first quarter on the bottom line but increases the amount paid to its shareholders in dividends compared to the same period last year, according to the company’s quarterly report.

The gas carrier ended the first quarter with a net income from spot voyages of USD 92.9m, a decrease of 16 percent from the same period the year before.
