Major gas merger seems unlikely

If Avance Gas chooses to launch another bid for Dorian LPG, the company is likely to get the same answer as the last time: a resounding no thank you, sources close to the process tell ShippingWatch.

There is likely to be a consolidation in the gas segment in time, but to see major players in the VLGC segment such as Dorian LPG, Avance Gas, and BW Group joining in is not on the cards, several sources confirm to ShippingWatch.

According to a new analysis from Danske Bank, Avance Gas will launch a bid for Dorian LPG in the near future in an attempt to create a more consolidated industry – something which CEO Christian Andersen has told ShippingWatch is a necessary development.
