
Even though the four major shareholders in Dorian LPG, including Scorpio, are preparing to divest their stakes in the gas carrier, this does not mean that they plan to sell right this minute, says CEO of Norwegian Avance Gas, Christian Andersen, who has repeatedly voiced an interest in joining forces with Dorian.
A coming share sale would in principal make it easier to achieve a necessary consolidation among players in the segment for the major gas vessels, VLCCs, but Avance is not interested in acquiring a minority stake - and this applies to all companies, Christian Andersen tells ShippingWatch. From the outside, Avance could look like an obvious buyer for the shares in light of the carrier's previously announced desire to merge with Dorian:
