Management discord brings new CEO to Odfjell

The board of directors and now-former CEO Jan A. Hammer of Norwegian chemical tanker carrier Odfjell were unable to agree on the company's strategic development. Hammer will step down, effective immediately.

Norwegian Odfjell has appointed a new CEO, says the chemical tanker carrier in a statement. The board of directors and now-former CEO Jan A. Hammer (photo) were unable to agree on developments for the company going forward, and Jan A. Hammer will therefore resign.

Tore Jakobsen has been appointed interim CEO. He has been part of the carrier's management group since 2005 where he has served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Investments. He has previously served as CEO of Westfal-Larsen & CO A/S.
