Norwegian Flex LNG postpones newbuildings

The only two vessels in the orderbook of Flex LNG, which has John Fredriksen as a major shareholder, have now been pushed back one year.

Gas carrier Flex LNG does not yet have a fleet, and now the carrier will have to wait until 2018 before taking delivery of its two Panamax newbuildings.

"The company is pleased to announce that an agreement has been reached with Samsung Heavy Industries to convert the propulsion system for two LNG carriers from DFDE to the fuel efficient 2-stroke slow speed MEGI main engines," says Flex LNG in a statement.
