Scorpio Tankers made USD 40.7 million in Q1

New York-listed Scorpio Tankers achieved a net income of USD 40.7 million in the first quarter of the year. The result was mainly attributed to an increased number of vessels in the fleet and higher TCE rates.

Scorpio Tankers delivered a net income of USD 40.7 million in the first three months of 2015. The result includes a one-off gain of USD 2.0 million related to completion of the sale of three vessels in the period.

The company achieved a net income of USD 53.3 million in the same period 2014, though this result was primarily caused by the sale of seven VLCC newbuildings, for a total USD 51.4 million.
