Euronav: In talks to acquire four VLCCs

Belgian Euronav is now commenting on market rumors that the carrier is preparing a giant VLCC purchase. The company informs that it is not negotiating a giant acquisition, but that it is looking at four supertankers.


Belgian tanker carrier Euronav is now rejecting media speculation that the company allegedly spent USD 1.2 billion on 18 crude oil tanker carriers distributed across eight VLCCs and 10 Suezmaxes. The carrier informs in a brief statement that it is in advanced talks to purchase just four VLCCs.
