Swedish fund pumps millions into Nordic Tankers

The Swedish equity fund Triton suffers big losses in its ownership of Nordic Tankers which is running on a deficit. Last year alone, Triton had to inject USD 69 million into Nordic Tankers.

The annual report for the Swedish company Nordic Tankers Shipholding AB shows that Triton's investment in Nordic Tankers continues to bring losses for the equity fund which acquired the chemical carrier in 2012.

In 2014, the earnings increased at Nordic Tankers Shipholding AB, which apart from Nordic Tankers also includes Herning Shipping. Income grew to USD 206.4 million from USD 183.3 million. Meanwhile, the bottom line remained negative and the result came to a deficit of USD 4.3 million in 2014, compared to a loss of USD 25.7 million in 2013.
