DHT Holdings earned USD 22.2 million in Q2

The Norwegian tanker carrier DHT Holdings, which has six super tankers under construction, delivered an operating profit of almost USD 50 million in the second quarter. The carrier expects that the boom in the market will continue.

Oslo-based tanker carrier DHT Holdings, which is listed in New York, achieved an operating result of USD 49.5 million and a net profit of USD 22.2 million in the second quarter 2015.

Besides six newbuildings under construction in Korea, the company has a fleet of 20 VLCCs, half of which are on long-term contracts. Of the 18 vessels in operation, 10 are on long contracts, while the remaining eight are placed in the spot market. The ships achieved a daily income of USD 52,300 in the second quarter, according to the carrier's interim report.
