Sweden's Laurin family to expand its tanker carrier

Shipping has always been a hot topic at the dinner table for the Swedish Laurin family, of which the four children of the founders currently control Laurin Maritime with 17 product tankers in its fleet - which will hopefully grow this year, CEO Mikael Laurin tells ShippingWatch.

It is usually unavoidable when the Swedish family Laurin sits down to share a meal - namely the discussions about the shipping industry's many nuances, which almost always form a pivotal part of the conversation, and this is how it has always been, explains Mikael Laurin, CEO of the family-owned tanker company Laurin Maritime which his parents, Hans and Agenta Laurin, founded almost 36 years ago. Today he runs the carrier along with his three sisters.

Laurin Maritime operates a fleet of 17 product tankers in the MR sector, and this number will hopefully grow this year, says Mikael Laurin in an interview with ShippingWatch.
