EU moves forward with retaliations on US steel tariffs

EU plans to impose extra tariffs worth EUR 2.8 billion on US-made products. The move comes in response to the US' announced tariffs on European steel and aluminum.

EU confirms that the union is planning to introduce EUR 2.8 billion (USD 3.3 billion) in extra duties on US products as retaliation for US President Donald Trump's tariffs on European steel and aluminum, according to the Financial Times.

Wednesday, the EU Commission announced that it has instructed trade officials to draft a list of products, including whiskeys and yachts, on which the additional tariff should be applied.
