Tuesday, the Iranian foreign ministry made clear that Iran will respond with equal countermeasures if the US makes good on its threat to block the country's oil exports, reports Reuters.

This follows after a period in which Iran has been subject to intensifying diplomatic pressure from the US, which no longer buys Iranian oil.
