Hurricane Florence will impact shipping

Hurricane Florence is currently ravaging through the US east coast and will impact shipping routes in the region. One specific market will be struck particularly hard. Carriers are decreasing the speed of vessels.

10 million people are expected to be affected by the category 1 hurricane Florence, which has already caused major flood in the states North Caroline, South Carolina and Virginia. At the same time, the storm will also have an impact on businesses on the US east coast, and shipping in particular will be impacted by the natural phenomenon.

US Secretary of Commerce, Wilbur Ross said to Fox Business that the storm will have "a lot of implications" for shipping.
