More countries support the Hong Kong convention

The Netherlands has ratified the Hong Kong Convention for safe ship recycling while Germany is also ready to endorse the convention, writes the Norwegian Shipowners' Association.

More countries now declare their support for the Hong Kong Conventionon on shipbreaking, and the convention is thus moving one step closer to entry into force - 10 years after IMO's adoption.

Wednesday this week, The Netherlands ratified the regulation at a meeting in the International Maritime Organization (IMO), writes the Dutch Rijksoverheid in a press release.
