Svitzer divests Portuguese business with 15 towboats

Svitzer has elected to sell its Portuguese business and its 15 towboats for an undisclosed sum. The buyer is a company partly owned by Svitzer Portugal's current managing director.

Svitzer has decided to divest its business in Portugal with a fleet of 15 vessels, informs the towage operator in a statement on Thursday.

The buyer is Pioneiro do Rio, Serviços Maritimos Ltd., which is co-owned by the current managing director of Svitzer Portugal, Rui Cruz.
