Stena's business grows – but the profit shrinks

Swedish shipping group Stena AB increased its top line significantly in a 2018 when earnings went the opposite direction. The oil and gas activities were hit particularly hard by fluctuations.

Despite a growth in revenue, Sweden's Stena AB finished 2018 with a profit that was somewhat lower compared to a year ago.

A revenue of SEK 34.7 billion (USD 3.5 billion) resulted in an operating profit before impairments and asset sales (EBITDA) of SEK 6.59 billion, according to the annual report from the shipping group, which covers companies such as Stena Line, Stena Bulk, Stena Drilling and Stena RoRo.
