Svitzer denies employees' demands in labor dispute

Four years ago, Svitzer's crews in the Netherlands started working 8.5 hours more a week without extra pay. Now they want a raise, but Svizer denies their claim. The conflict has led to several work stoppages.

The Maersk-group's tug boat carrier Svitzer is facing an elongated labor conflict in the Netherlands, where management and employees have been at odds with each other for quite some time.

For nine months, Svitzer and its crewmembers have argued about pay and the employees have therefore gone on strike multiple times.
