DFDS in talks with French authorities about wage compensation

Wage compensation for employees at DFDS' French organization could be underway. France will compensate ferry companies for their wage costs in the wake of the coronavirus and Brexit.

DFDS is in talks with the French authorities to take part in a wage compensation scheme for financially strained ferry operators in France, the company confirms to ShippingWatch.

On Wednesday, French Prime Minister Jean Castex pledged that the French government will compensate French ferry operators, who are hit by the coronavirus crisis and Brexit for wage costs of EUR 30 million, reports Reuters.
