Almost six years have passed since Kristian Bendix Nielsen was contacted by his former Maersk colleague Jakob Buus Petersen, who had an idea for a company they should start together.

After spending a long time in a large organization, Nielsen was ready for a change and to stand on his own, and he was thus not difficult to convince. This has since resulted in company Vessel Performance Solutions, which analyzes ship data for the purpose of reducing ships' fuel consumption.
