A new partnership has seen the light of day in heavy lift, in which Dutch Jumbo Maritime and German SAL Heavy Lift have joined forces. A marriage of convenience, they say, but the timing is much better than expected due to a "perfect storm", the partners tell ShippingWatch.

After 12 years of strained markets, a new large-scale partnership in heavy lift now eyes a "perfect storm" on the horizon, says newlywed heavy lift specialists Jumbo and SAL.

Thourhg a new joint venture, the Jumbo-SAL-Alliance, the parties now command 30 vessels.
