Ship carrying dead captain will arrive in Italy next week

The ship carrying the dead captain, whose body has been on board Ital Libera since his passing in the middle of April, will finally arrive in Italy next week, where his body will be returned to his family, Evergreen confirms in a statement to ShippingWatch.

The Italian captain's remains will finally be returned to his family in Italy next week on June 15, shipping line Evergreen confirms in a statement shared with ShippingWatch.

The captain died on board the vessel in the middle of April after getting infected with the coronavirus. Several other crew members were also infected, and due to this the vessel was denied access to several ports, which hindered the process of returning the captain's remains to his home.
