35,000 vessels still lack ballast water systems a few years before deadline

Within the next three years, thousands of vessels around the world will need to be retrofitted with ballast water systems. That would be equivalent to 875 installations per month ahead of the deadline in the fall of 2024, shows an analysis.

Within the next three years, 35,000 vessels around the world will need to be retrofitted with ballast water treatment systems in order to live up to the more stringent global environmental requirements.

That is the equivalent of 875 installations per month from now until the deadline in the fall of 2024, according to an analysis from EUMT Techcross.
