Maersk supports most parts of the new EU plan

It's not entirely what he had hoped for, but Maersk CEO Søren Skou still supports the new EU proposal on CO2 quotas for the shipping industry.

"Maersk looks forward to supporting and engaging with the EU and non-EU stakeholders on the Fit for 55 package," writes Maersk CEO Søren Skou in a post on LinkedIn.

He comments on the fact that the shipping industry, as part of the mentioned initiative, will become part of the EU quota trading system, ETS.
