Hamburg Commercial Bank is back to profiting from shipping and expands its maritime activities

Hamburg Commercial Bank is once again earning money from shipping after a six-month period of progress in the industry and asset valuations going through the roof. New business has been added.

Hamburg Commercial Bank (HCOB) saw positive results from its shipping activities, according to the interim report released by the German bank, which changed its name from HSH Nordbank in 2019.

While the net earnings in the first half of 2020 landed at negative EUR 8.0 million (USD 9.3 million), the bank saw earnings of EUR 30.0 million in the first six months of 2021.
