Maersk naval officers suspended following rape accusation

Maersk has suspended five naval officers and launched an extensive investigation into an alleged rape of a 19-year-old American woman on board one of the company's ships.

A 19-year-old woman was allegedly raped on board one of Maersk's ships during an internship in 2019, reports Danish newspaper Berlingske based on an anonymous blog, which describes the assault.

Five seafarers have been suspended, and several other seafarers may become involved, reports Maersk, which has launched a comprehensive investigation.
