Maersk Line: The alliance will provide significant benefits

“Significant benefits” will be provided to the parties of the new alliance between Maersk Line and the world’s second and third largest container carriers MSC and CMA CGM, Maersk Line informs ShippingWatch.

No less than 29 services, or the so-called strings, will become part of the cooperation that took the industry by surprise upon the announcement on Tuesday morning that the world’s three largest container carriers Maersk Line, the Swiss company MSC, and the French  company CMA CGM have entered into an alliance.

Maersk Line’s Chief Trade and Marketing Officer Vincent Clerc confirms the alliance and also informs ShippingWatch that one of the strings on Asia – Northern Europe will be removed.
