Shipowners on visa proposal: Not good enough

Following yesterday's critique from the Danish Shipowners' Association regarding the Danish immigration- and visa laws, the government has now presented a proposal. "Far from good enough," is the first comment from the shipowners.

The government's proposal for a more flexible way to handle visa applications from foreign business people in general, including mariners stationed in Denmark, is not good enough, says the Danish Shipowners' Association.

Yesterday, Carsten Mortensen, Chairman of the Danish Shipowners' Association, used pointed and direct terms to criticize the Danish immigration laws for forcing good employees out of the country as well as creating obstacles for bringing good, foreign colleagues to Denmark.
