Dane to head global bunker association

For the first time ever, a Dane is set to become chairman of IBIA, the international bunker association with more than 600 members.

To Jens Maul Jørgensen, bunker and fuel have formed a massive part of his 23-year career in shipping. As such, it makes sense that the 40-year-old head of German Oldendorff's total annual purchase of two million tons of oil becomes the new chairman of IBIA, the international bunker association.

Jens Maul Jørgensen, who has a history with the OW Bunker group and the tumultuous Danish carrier Armada, among others, will have plenty of work to do with the association's membership, which includes around 600 companies ranging from suppliers to shipping companies and ports.
