Media: Sale of Maersk's VLCC fleet enters final phase

On Friday last week, a large carrier withdrew from a Maersk-led pool collaboration for supertankers, and a sale of Maersk's VLCC fleet is now said to be imminent.

According to Tradewinds, Maersk Tankers is close to selling its fleet of supertankers, VLCCs, to American General Maritime, which has private equity fund Oaktree Capital as its largest shareholder.
